Lost Ark: The complete guide to trade skills, stronghold, collectibles

on

In Lost Ark, Trade Skills are activities that allow a player to gather resources around by using specific gathering tools. You’re gonna have a full mansion to manage! The housing system is quite detailed and requires some time to be used at its best, but the game will walk you through the basics with a series of tutorial quests.

Lost Ark: Trade skills

Trade Skills are activities that allow a player to gather resources around by using specific gathering tools. Players can then choose to invest these materials into crafting professions.

The available Trade Skills in Lost Ark:

  • Foraging – plants gathering
  • Logging – wood gathering
  • Mining – minerals gathering
  • Hunting
  • Fishing
  • Excavating – archeological findings gathering

They will be triggered with the default hotkey “B” or directly interacting with the resource you wish to gather. This action will temporarily alter the player’s game interface.

Your gathering skills will replace your bottom talent bar, and instead, with the Identity, you will possess a bar using the readily available “Work Points.” Each action performed within this mode will consume these points, which can regenerate every 10 min (30x).

Every Trade Skill has its rank, which needs to be increased to obtain new buffs. The tools you use contribute to the skill level: green tools add +1 to the position, blue ones add +2, while purple adds +4.

Your Trade Skill rank is server-wide, which means that if you have some level on your main, that will be the same on your Alts.

All gathered resources will be stored in your inventory, and some of them can even be exchanged with NPCs or sold in the Auction House.

Lost Ark: Stronghold (Housing System)

In Lost Ark, there’s also a housing system, or even better: you’re gonna have a full mansion to manage!

As for many things in Lost Ark, the housing system is quite detailed and requires some time to be used at its best, but the game will walk you through the basics with a series of tutorial quests.

The first quest that allows you to unlock this personal island is called [Guide] Herald Theon’s Invitation and will lead you to East Luterra, where you can learn the “Song of Tranquil Land” which can be used to teleport into your estate.

While in your estate, your game interface is going to change completely.
On the bottom bar you won’t have anymore your characters skills, but a series of different options:

The first two are the ones of our interest, as they include all options to manage our island.
Let’s see them in detail.

The first button is marked as “Hotkey” and allows us to access the general management of our estate.

We have here an “Introduction” section, where you can place your greetings and it’s also the section where you can see which timed merchant is currently visiting your estate. Then we have a “Development” area where you can run research, craft items, manage travels or training, and lastly a section called “Effects”, dedicated to the active bonus you have in your land.

On the top part of your screen, you’ll also see a series of areas that are available: the laboratory, the workshop, the headquarters, the mansion, and the training.

Starting from the first, the laboratory is useful to upgrade the level of the different facilities, including the number of available slots for your storage.

To upgrade a facility you must run a “Study” and invest both resources (minerals, wood, etc.) and currency (gold or pirate coins).

Our second area is the workshop, which is dedicated to crafting all those consumable items that can be used in fights: potions, grenades, food, etc.

This section also includes crafting decorations for your estate and the opportunity to create gathering tools for Trade Skills.

The headquarters are dedicated to missions.

By sending your ships on missions you can gain Estate Orders or Pirate coins (see section 1.3 Currency of this document for more information about it).

Next, we have the Mansion area.

This section is dedicated to estate buffs. You can craft some items in the laboratory and place them here to receive additional bonuses for your facilities. NPCs’ outfits count too.

Lastly, there’s the Training section. On this screen, you can select some of your characters and send them to train with dummies. This will increase their XP, so their Combat Level will go up. It’s a useful option if you do not have enough time to dedicate to your alts.

Obviously, it is also possible to decorate your estate. The decorations can be crafted in the laboratory and they can be placed by using your mouse and keyboard as follows:

Lost Ark: Collectibles

Collectibles in Lost Ark are items you can gather or find while running specific activities. They’re server-wide, so it doesn’t matter which character you farm them. They will still be part of the same collection.

Island Tokens
Island Tokens are items players can acquire by visiting the many islands available in seas and oceans. Each island has its own recommended Item Level to see, and they can unlock several types of rewards. These rewards are unlocked every 5 Island Tokens.

For a complete list of rewards, you can check out the usual site: Papunika. If you instead wish to see the complete list of islands and their content, I advise you to visit this page on LAOINFO.

Omnium Stars
Omnium Stars can be obtained via quests, rapport quests with NPCs, or trading and exchanging for valuable rewards.

Giant’s Hearts
As for the other collectibles, Giant’s Hearts can be acquired in different ways (quests, rapport with NPCs, reputation, etc.) and exchanged with Island of Wisdom’s NPC.

Masterpieces
Useful for runes, Lost Ark gold, and card decks, Masterpieces can be collected and exchanged on Sunflower Island. Most of these collectibles come from the Adventurer’s Tome, and they’re 55 in total.

Mokoko Seeds
Mokoko Seeds are probably one of the easiest collectibles to notice in the early game. They can be found on the ground and be picked up by interacting with them as you would do with gathering items (default hotkey “G”).

The rewards from Mokoko Seeds are not good and can be exchanged with NPC Totoma at Mokoko’s Village.

Sea Bounty
Sea Bounty is also called “Voyage Adventures” and can be collected using secret maps. Marketplace, The various personal maps can be unlocked through the Adventurer’s Tome, Rapport quest, or exchanged with NPCs for sigils. Players can open the map, go into the marketplace, and get their rewards.

Ignea Tokens
Ignea Tokens are acquired by completing 100% of the Adventurer’s Tome. There are runes, cards, and cosmetic items or mounts among the many rewards from these marks.

World Tree Leaves
World Tree Leaves can be obtained through upgrades of Trade Skills (except for the first one). They can drop from specific nodes of some maps, and they are 75 in total. However, out of these 75, only 55 are present in the game nowadays (on the KR server). We will probably have less on EU at launch.
